Bitcoin registered an unprecedented new level as it exceeded the $120,000 threshold for the first time, indicating increased confidence and investment in the world’s largest cryptocurrency.

Bitcoin has increased by 29 percent since the beginning of the year, sparking a broader rebound in other cryptocurrencies despite the customs tariffs imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump, which caused considerable turmoil.

Ether, the world’s second‑largest cryptocurrency, jumped to its highest level in more than five months at $3,048.23, and was last trading at $3,036.24.

The sector’s total market capitalization reached about $3.78 trillion, according to data from CoinMarketCap, a site specializing in tracking the digital‑asset market.
